FASHION DIARIES OUT, PLEASE. PROENZA SCHOULER’S JACK MCCOLLOUGH & LAZARO HERNANDEZ ARE THE NEXT GUESTS TO BE IN CONVERSATION WITH ALINA CHO AT THE MET.
Each year Alina Cho hosts The Atelier as part of the MetLiveArts series at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. MetLiveArts is a contemporary performance and talks platform held within gallery spaces in its hallowed halls.
Previously, the likes of Michael Kors, Alber Elbaz, Alexander Wang, Diane von Furstenberg, Donatella Versace and Anna Wintour have been invited to collaborate and share their style stories and expertise. On Thursday 12 October, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez will take their turn.
American design standouts Jack and Lazaro are known for drawing inspiration from contemporary art and youth culture, with Proenza Schouler the brand playing an important role in reinvigorating American fashion. They chose to cross the Atlantic this past July to show their Spring/Summer 2018 ready-to-wear collection during the Fall/Winter 2017 haute couture shows in Paris. Pioneers of style and craft since launching New York brand Proenza Schouler 15 years ago (named after the designers’ mother’s maiden names), the visionaries behind the 10-year-old perennial “It Bag” known as PS1, will chat with journalist Alina Cho about why they showed in Paris, how they manage their personal and professional relationship, and what inspires their collections.
